Hanna Winery

California, the most populous state of the United States, located on the Pacific coast of North America is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. The four largest cities are Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose and San Francisco. California is also the home of and wine producing regions such as Santa Barbara and Northern California's Wine Country.

Hanna has evolved from a winery department primarily on outside growers to a hundred percent estate winery, with 252 acres of planted vineyards in three of Sonoma County’s finest application. Their own vineyard allows them to control every aspect of grape growing and they feel their wine quality has improved immeasurably.

In Alexander Valley, they lovingly call this their Red Ranch as it is currently planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. When they first bought the ranch in 1985, it was planted in large part to Chardonnay and French Colombard. They find the red loam soils and warm climate to be ideal for the red Bordeaux varieties. With gently sloping blocks and terraced hillsides, this 100 acre ranch is also home to a tasting room with panoramic views.

The Slusser Road vineyard in the heart of the Russian River Valley and is home to their award winning Sauvignon Blanc, as well as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. With its cool climate, this 60 acre vineyard is perfect for slow ripening varieties, giving them lively aromatics and crunchy flavors.

The original home of Hanna Winery was also their very first vineyard property, which was planted to 25 acres of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. This vineyard also produces Elias wines and their single vineyard reserve burgundy offerings.

Sonoma Valley is the jewel in the crown of the Hanna vineyards. Bismark vineyard is high in the Sonoma Mayacamas Mountains, with elevations from 1400 to 2600 feet. 67 acres here are devoted to the Bordeaux varieties, Syrah and Zinfandel. The vines grow in decomposed igneous rock. With tiny tonnage, this vineyard produces inky, powerful wines that age beautifully.
