Jekel Vineyards

California, the most populous state of the United States, located on the Pacific coast of North America is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. The four largest cities are Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose and San Francisco. California is also the home of and wine producing regions such as Santa Barbara and Northern California's Wine Country.

Jekel Vineyards was founded in 1972 and is recognized as one of the early pioneers in crafting world-class wines from Monterey County in California. Since 1978, they have built an international following for their critically acclaimed, premium Rieslings, Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs and Bordeaux blends. Jekel Vineyards is known for pioneering the production of crisp vibrant wines from Monterey County. They craft versatile wines that reflect the best varietals and styles from Monterey-California's most diverse and dynamic wine growing region.

Ones first sip will find a market basket of fresh fruits, a melange of lemon, apple, peach and pineapple with a rich mouthfeel and good acid balance. The traditional light varietal Petrol nose adds complexity and authenticity. Riesling defines Jekel, and this vintage is one to remember. The complexity of Chardonnay wine shows on the nose, with aromas in deep layers of ripe red apple, pineapple, banana, peaches and coconut, with toppings of light smoke and toasty notes from the new oak.

It is the goal of Jekel Vineyards to create wines from the promising viticulture region of Carmel Valley that will rival in style and quality the finest traditional wines. With an unmatched dedication and the resources and talent to support their commitment, they embark on the next frontier in American winemaking.

At Jekel Vineyards, their philosophy is to grow the finest grapes possible and let the fruit express itself in the wine. Since all of their grapes are estate grown, each bottle of wine they produce embodies the characteristics of their unique region, exhibiting the natural flavors that are born from the land.
