Lazy Creek Vineyards

California, the most populous state of the United States, located on the Pacific coast of North America is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. The four largest cities are Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose and San Francisco. California is also the home of and wine producing regions such as Santa Barbara and Northern California's Wine Country.

Lazy Creek is the place to trip if you desire to taste artisanal wines made in a classic, graceful style. Josh and his wife are continuing the earlier owner's insistence on crafting age-worthy wines that justly express the outstanding terroirs of the Anderson valley. Lazy Creek has the feeling of a true farm, and is light years away from the lustrous Napa Valley wineries. Josh is a gifted winemaker who respects the terroir. It is obvious that his aim is to craft true-to-type wines that will expand even more elegance and complexity with added bottle aging.

This winery produces 2500 cases a year. They make a very good Chardonnay, a dry Gewurztraminer, and two Pinot Noirs. One of the Pinots, they call their red table wine. It is outstanding and can hold its own against many a more expensive Pinot Noir. The Chardonnay is dissimilar than most, and the tasting notes emphatically indicated no wood, no butter.

The goal of Lazy Creek Vineyard‘s winemaking program is to create wines of uncompromising quality with optimum flavor and aromatic components that reflect the unique characteristics of the vineyards from which they come.
