Limerick Lane Winery

California, the most populous state of the United States, located on the Pacific coast of North America is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. The four largest cities are Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose and San Francisco. California is also the home of and wine producing regions such as Santa Barbara and Northern California's Wine Country.

Tom and Ted Markoczy started Limerick Lane Winery in 1977, complete with squatters, broken down buildings and chicken coops, he had no idea of the wild ride he had just signed up for. In 1986, Tom and Ted decided to produce their first wine, a Sauvignon Blanc. They had to rent space to custom crush at a winery in Geyserville, but the results were well worth it. Limerick Lane wines became increasingly popular and Tom and Ted had the satisfaction of successfully selling out of every vintage.

Limerick Lane Winery wines include Collins Vineyard Zinfandel, Old Vine Zinfandel, Syrah, Collins Vineyard, a blend of Syrah and Zinfandel and more. Collins Vineyard Zinfandel is dark ruby in color with aromas of raspberry jam, plum, coffee, allspice and pepper with a hint of warm vanilla. Mouthwatering flavors of raspberry, plum, peppery spice, vanilla and jam lead to a long juicy finish. This wine has lively acidity and balanced tannins, which shows beautifully now and will cellar gracefully for 10 to 12 years.

Limerick Lane Cellars is busier and more successful than ever and the wines are well received in the market and continue to garner awards and good reviews. Like the old vine Zinfandel in his vineyard, Michael Collins and Limerick Lane Cellars continue to excel in challenging conditions. Limerick Lane Cellars Winery’s winemaking program is to create wines of uncompromising quality with optimum flavor and aromatic components that reflect the unique characteristics of the vineyards from which they come.
