Opolo Vineyards

California, the most populous state of the United States, located on the Pacific coast of North America is the home of and wine producing regions such as Santa Barbara and Northern California's Wine Country.

The Opolo vineyard, located in the Santa Lucia Mountains just West of Paso Robles, is also home to their winery and tasting room with a 70 acre area. There, the poor mountain soils, high daytime temperatures and cool nighttime temperatures combine to yield intense grapes that are the necessary ingredients to produce fine wines.

The climate there is influenced by maritime air from the Morrow Bay area, and is particularly well suited to their varietals grown there, including Sangiovese, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet and Chardonnay. Opolo Vineyards comprises 270 acres of estate vineyards Eastside of Paso Robles. With such, they are well positioned to produce some of the finest ultra-premium wines from this stellar winegrowing region.

The Opolo vineyard, offers different types of wine such as 2002 Syrah which showcases the potential of Syrah grown in the Paso Robles area. This Syrah offers a generous bouquet of fruit, while barrel aging for 18 months in both French and American oak. The color is a rich garnet and natural acidity is well balanced. 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon is a big, rich, meaty Cabernet loaded with concentrated black cherry, cassis and blackberry. The wine is lush and full, with great structure and spicy notes from the oak aging.

2003 Fusion, this estate blend of Cabernat Sauvignon and Syrah has resulted in a symphony of berry and black cherry with well integrated tannin and balanced acidity. 2003 Merlot is a broadly shouldered Merlot with loads of concentrated plum and cherry, firm tannins and good acidity. 2004 Summit Creek Zinfandel offers intense fruit, including ripe black cherry, raspberry and a touch of spice. 2005 Muscat Canelli is always seductive, this Muscat Canelli treats the taster with aromas and flavors of melons and peaches, and offers a floral, perfume like bouquet. 2005 Pinot Grigio is traditionally a dry white wine from Italy. 2005 Viognier is normally associated with the Rhone Valley in France, this white wine has found its home on the Central Coast in California and is a great alternative to Chardonnay.

The goal of Opolo Vineyard’s winemaking program is to create wines of uncompromising quality with optimum flavor and aromatic components that reflect the unique characteristics of the vineyards from which they come.
