Perry Creek Vineyards

California, the most populous state of the United States, located on the Pacific coast of North America is the home of and wine producing regions such as Santa Barbara and Northern California's Wine Country.

Located at an elevation of 2,400 feet, this estate vineyard is located along a ridge-top above the middle fork of the Consumnes River, in the Somerset and Fair Play district of southern El Dorado County. The winery owns 155 acres, of which 70 acres of vineyards are planted. The town of Fair Play is approximately 12 miles North of Plymouth-Amador County. Some of their neighbors that you may be familiar with are Montevina, Renwood, Boeger, and Lava Cap. Rombauer, a well-known Napa winery has sourced fruit form El Dorado County as well.

Perry Creek Vineyards has a very impressive facility in the Fairplay wine region.  They are known for their ZinMan Zinfindel which is always consistently good and at a fair price.  In addition, the Tempranillo is a fine selection.  There is always a lot to see at Perry Creek and it seems to change fairly often.  From the Jewelry to gourmet goodies to good wine, Perry Creek is a fun stop. ZinMan a zinfandel, is the winery's trademark bottling. Perry Creek also makes Rhone varietals including Syrah, Viognier, and Mourvedre. Michael Casen, owner, and Nancy Steele also produce a variety of red and white wines and dessert wines including Mistelle Blanc and Mistelle Rouge.

Their vineyard experiences warm, sun filled days and cool evenings with a constant breeze flowing from the valley below. Summer daytime temperatures compare to Oakville in the center of Napa Valley is cooler than St. Helena and Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma. These conditions are ideal for the grapes and contribute to the intense and unique flavors of their wines. Their vineyard contains many nooks and crannies that create unique microclimates. They have 70 acres planted that are bearing fruit and their average yield is 3 to 4 tons per acre. They strive to match the right grape with the right place. When well matched this terroir provides an ideal location for ultra premium grapes.

Perry Creek Vineyards offers comfortable and relaxed first-rate hospitality for visitors. Their tasting room is open daily from 11 to 5 pm except for major holidays. Their tasting room opens to a spacious outdoor verandah picnic area.
