Sebastiani Vineyards

California, the most populous state of the United States, located on the Pacific coast of North America is the home of and wine producing regions such as Santa Barbara and Northern California's Wine Country.

Sebastiani Vineyards was established by the Franciscan fathers in the year 1825. These vineyards are among the oldest vineyard sites in northern California. They were acquired in 1904 by Samuele Sebastiani, the founder of their family winery, who emigrated from the wine producing region of Tuscany, Italy in 1895. They manufacture 5 different types of wines namely Proprietary wines, Single Vineyard selection wines, Appellation Selection Wines, Sonama County Wines and Winery Exclusive Wines.

In Proprietary wines they have Cherryblock Cabernet Sauvignon and 2003 Secolo. Their Cherryblock Estate Vineyard was first planted on the property in 1919. The Cherryblock Estate soil is well-drained, reddish-brown, rocky volcanic ash, known as Manzanita Series. This wine shows off its usual dark red crimson color and rich blackberry nose with hints of truffle and cassis. Seloco is dark crimson in color, this wine is famed for its aromatics. It has a flavor of lush fruit and a touch of smoke, dried herbs and terroir or soil on the soft finish. The wine is supple and elegant and a beautiful match for Kobe beef skewers and pot roast.

Single Vineyard Selection 2003 offers Dutton Ranch Chardonnay wine. It is medium gold in color, this wine has lovely aromas of toast, butter, marzipan, peaches and pears. In the mouth, it flaunts flavors of golden delicious apple and Meyer lemon. The wine’s body is medium to full with silky elegance and roundness. It is a richer, more supple wine than previous vintages and excellent with clam chowder and fettuccini alfredo.

Appellation Selection Wines offers 4 different types of wines namely Alexander Valley Cabernet  Sauvignon, Alexander Valley Merlot, Sonoma Valley Barbera and Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Sonoma County Wines offers 5 different types of wines namely Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County Merlot, Sonoma County Chardonnay, Sonoma County Zinfandel and Sonoma County Pinot Noir. Lastly Winery Exclusive Wines offers 5 different types of wines namely Sylvia’s Symphony, Adagio Amador Port, Dolcino Rosso, Eye of the Swan and Sonoma Valley Syrah.

Through nearly 100 years of grape growing and winemaking in Sonoma County, Sebastiani has found these perfect grape-to-site matches and has showcased them in Single Vineyard Selection Wines and Proprietary Wines.
