California is the most populous state of the United States. Located on the Pacific coast of North America, it is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. Known as the Center of the Southland, Buena Park is a city with a distinct heritage undergoing an exciting revitalization in business, residential, and commercial projects. Buena Park is a city located in northwestern Orange County, California. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 78,282. The city is located adjacent to the city of Anaheim and is located 20 kilometers northwest of Downtown Santa Ana.

It was founded by James A. Whitaker, a wholesale grocer from Chicago, Illinois in 1887 and incorporated in 1953. An agricultural center at its founding, particularly dairy, wine and citrus products, the city is now primarily a residential suburb. 79,174.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 27.6 square kilometers, out of which 27.4 square kilometers of its area is covered by land and 0.2 square kilometers is covered by water. In the city the population was spread out with 29.4 percent under the age of 18, 9.7 percent from 18 to 24, 32.3 percent from 25 to 44, 19.2 percent from 45 to 64, and 9.3 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 98.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.9 males.

Buena Park is a city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages.
