Ceres is a municipality in Stanislaus County, California, United States. In 2000, the population of the city was 34,609 and an area of 18.0 square kilometers. Stanislaus County is a county located in the Central Valley of the U. S. state of California, between Stockton and Fresno. In the city the population was spread out with 34.4 percent under the age of 18, 10.1 percent from 18 to 24, 30.0 percent from 25 to 44, 17.5 percent from 45 to 64, and 8.1 percent who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 29 years. For every 100 females there were 97.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.8 males.
