California is the most populous state of the United States. Located on the Pacific coast of North America, it is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. California is known for its pleasant climate and ethnically diverse population. The name California is most commonly believed derived from a storied paradise peopled by black Amazons and ruled by Queen Califia.
 
Clearlake is a municipality located in Lake County, California. In 2005, the population of the city was 14,728 and an area of 27.5 square kilometers. The city of Clearlake is located on the south shore of breathtaking Clear Lake, the biggest natural lake in the state of California and second oldest lake in the world. The city can be found in beautiful Lake County, about 90 minutes northwest of Sacramento and 90 minutes northeast of San Francisco. 
 
In the city the population is spread out with 25.8 percent under the age of 18, 6.7 percent from 18 to 24, 23.1 percent from 25 to 44, 24.1 percent from 45 to 64, and 20.3 percent who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 41 years. For every 100 females there are 91.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 87.8 males.
