La Mirada is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 46,783 at the 2000 census. It is best known as the home of Biola University, an evangelical Christian institution of higher education. La Mirada was the creation of two men, Andrew McNally, a printer and mapmaker from Chicago and his son-in-law Edwin Neff. According to the United States census bureau, the city has a total area of 20.4 square kilometers.

La Mirada is also known as the town of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
