Orinda

California is the most populous state of the United States. Located on the Pacific coast of North America, it is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Mexico. California is known for its pleasant climate and ethnically diverse population. The name California is most commonly believed derived from a storied paradise peopled by black Amazons and ruled by Queen Califia.

Orinda is a city in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 17,599 at the 2000 census. Orinda is a well-known bedroom community in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is home to many wealthy professionals who commute to downtown Oakland, San Francisco, and Walnut Creek. At present its most famous resident is Will Wright. Originally a rural area mainly known for ranching and summer cabins, the town's popularity as a year-round place to live increased after the Caldecott Tunnel was completed, providing shorter automobile access to points west including San Francisco.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 32.7 square kilometers. As of the census of 2000, there were 17,599 people, 6,596 households, and 5,243 families residing in the city. The population density was 539.7 per square kilometers.

Orinda is definitely one of the popular tourist attractions in California worth paying a visit while touring the country. This place leaves a pleasing and unforgettable memory and justifies the proud cultural tradition of California.
