Author Corrine Kenner will speak at NY tarot conference


Corrine Kenner, a popular tarot author, speaker, and teacher, will be a featured guest at the annual Readers Studio tarot conference in New York, April 21-23.

Corrine Kenner, a popular tarot author, speaker, and teacher, will be a featured guest at the annual Readers Studio tarot conference in New York, April 21-23, at the Marriott Courtyard near the La Guardia Airport.

Kenner, the author several tarot books and publications, will host a breakfast-time roundtable discussion on Saturday, April 22, at 7:45 a.m. The discussion will focus on tarot reading as a business, with special emphasis on tarot ethics and practical business promotion.

Kenner will also offer private tarot readings at the conference on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Corrine Kenner specializes in bringing metaphysical subjects down to earth. She is the author of Tall Dark Stranger, a handbook on using tarot cards for romance, and Tarot Journaling, a guide to the art of keeping a tarot diary. She created The Epicurean Tarot, the innovative "recipe card" tarot deck published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc. She was the creator of Llewellyn's Tarot Calendar, and she is a contributor to the 2005, 2006, and 2007 editions of the Llewellyn Tarot Reader.  She also publishes a free weekly newsletter through her website at corrinekenner.com.

A former newspaper reporter and magazine editor, Kenner also edited Llewellyn's popular Astrological Calendar, Daily Planetary Guide and Sun Sign Book. She compiled an anthology of first-person experiences called Strange But True, and she is the author of Crystals for Beginners, which will be released in June 2006.

Kenner is a certified tarot master, and she holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy from California State University, Long Beach. In her everyday life, she is the vice president and communications director of Cadgraphics Inc., which develops software for fire alarm and security systems.

The Readers Studio is a three-day gathering during which advanced and professional tarot readers meet to improve their craft and increase their skills. This year's presenters will include authors Rachel Pollack, Robert M. Place, Lon Milo DuQuette and Mary K. Greer.

Previous Readers Studio speakers include authors Nina Lee Braden, Valerie Sim, Mark McElroy, Teresa Michaelson, Barbara Moore, Wald Amberstone, and Ruth Ann Amberstone.

The Readers Studio is is a joint production of The Tarot School and Llewellyn Worldwide publishing.
